Reverend Max Joseph Toliver Jr. was born January 30, 1991 in Houston, Texas to Max J. and Tonia D. Toliver (Gray). He was reared in the Acres Homes Community along with his five sisters and graduated from Eisenhower Senior High School in 2009. He met his beautiful wife Angelia Greenwood Toliver in 2010 at Sam Houston State University while pursuing his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He's the father of two sons, Max Joseph Toliver III and Zechariah Toliver.
He accepted his calling to the ministry and preached his first sermon on March 6, 2005 at the age of 14 under the leadership of Bishop Fredrick Banks at New Friendship Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
He was licensed in 2007 under Pastor Timothy Stewart Sr. of New Beginnings Holy Tabernacle while serving as Youth Pastor and ordained an Elder by Presiding Bishop - Bishop Jesse L. Grace Sr. of The "Ark of God" Christian Fellowship in Houston, Texas. He served as Assistant Pastor of Kingdom Harvest Church of God In Christ in Willis, Texas from 2010 thru 2016 where Pastor Dr. James L. Bishop is the Pastor.
In August 2016, God called him to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville Texas where he is the Proud Pastor. He not only works in the church but also serves as the Chaplain for the Executive Division of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
In December 2017 he graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Chaplaincy from Grace School of Theology in the Woodlands, Texas. Afterwards he plans on pursuing his Masters of Divinity.
He stands firmly on the following scripture:
Jeremiah 1: 4. “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying: “Before I formed thee in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
He has adopted these wise words from his mom in which she simply says, “Be Real And Not Right.”
He continues his path through Spiritual guidance. This is only the beginning as he continues to be led by the Holy Spirit.
